Gee Construction are proud to have been the main contractor for the affordable housing development at Park Crescent, Bargoed for United Welsh Housing Association.

The project was groundbeaking in the social housing market in South Wales, the emphasis was on the use of fully sustainable and renewable energy systems.  The project utilises exhaust air heat pump systems to meet each dwellings heating requirements and solar panels to fulfil the hot water requirements for each dwelling.

The exhaust air heat pumps reuse the latent heat generated in the daily use of a private dwelling to maintain an ambient temperature of 20º whilst using minimum national grid energy to power the units.

The solar panels were designed using the layout and orientation of the buildings to produce the daily hot water requirement of each dwelling.  The layout was configured to work even through the darker winter months.

These systems ensured that Gee Construction maintained its high targets towards sustainable construction with its eyes fully focussed on the future whilst remaining a leader in the field of renewable energy in the social and affordable housing market.
