Leisure Case Study - Erith Library

Gee Construction were appointed by Bexley Council for the construction of Erith Library Plus, a 30 week project.


The project involved the fit out of two retail shells to house a new library with increased capacity along with a dedicated training and resource centre.  Providing the community with:

  • Books/CDs
  • Art display boards for hire
  • Museum display cases
  • A study zone
  • A large children’s Library
  • A teenager’s area with plasma screen TV
  • A meeting room for hire
  • A “read and relax” area
  • PC’s (free to use), WiFi
  • Public toilets with wheelchair access and baby changing facilities
  • A photocopier and fax
  • Council Contact Point with Freephone
  • Disabled access
