Retail Case Study - Northern Line
Gee were appointed by London Underground for the Northern Line Retail Units project. The project involved the removal of the existing shop fronts inside the station premises, and the replacement of the shop frontage, together with refurbishment of the interiors.
The station remained operational throughout. This resulted in certain works being executed during the periods where the station was closed, and the more minor works being executed during normal station open hours. This minimised any impact on the public. The works were completed within the given timeframe, and within budget.
Each shop had to be ready for use within a two to three week period. However, some of the smaller units were undertaken in less than a week. Depending on the urgency, some of the works were undertaken out of hours.
